The necessity to fill gaps prevails in the service and supply chain:
IBE™ intends to provide a pipeline for science and technology innovation, generating technology intellectual properties (IPs) and Spin-off new technology imbibed products. This is aimed at serving to the shared interests of its expertise, Government Mission programs and Industries requiring cost effective solutions. The best practices at IBE™ will be Invent, Innovate Energy-efficient technologies, develop and help commercialize the product know-how under MAKE-IN-INDIA initiative. Also, our charter is to help turn the scientific turn-key solution into tangible products, by providing multiple elements needed to mature very early-stage innovations. This enables financial returns to the inventor(s) as well as IBE™ to support further R&D.
Existence of wide territorial partnership:
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for collaboration with research and academic institutions like (i) Indian Institute of Technology (Madras) (ii) Central Leather Research Institute, and with Multinational corporate such as (iii) Nanovation, France, (iv) Mahindra and Mahindra (R&D) and (v) Ola Battery division will be initiated to realize the prototype developed at IBE™ as products for the global market.
Potential for endogenous regional development:
Compared to metro cities, Chengalpattu is a very small town with very few technology based companies around. Using IBE™, we can create employment for the local people and cater to local technological needs.
Existence of Highly Qualified Experts:
IBE™ represents distinctive expertise in engineering and science, and that generates research to best fulfill the current and emerging needs of society, enhancing its prosperity through environmentally sustainable means. Founded in May 2020, IBE™ functions through five verticals of interdisciplinary research, delivering to society at large. The FIVE verticals established are
- (i) Energy – Lithium-ion Cells (Ni-rich Cathodes/MCMB)
(ii) Monolithic Protected Lithium anode All-Solid-State rechargeable cells (First of its kind in the world),
(iii)Bipolar Li-ion Capattery for EV/HEVs and autonomous Solar Charging Station. (iv) Hydrogen Exhaling Fuel cells,
(v) Aqueous Metal ion batteries for low power applications,
- Plastic recycling by Microbial Fuel cells,
- Waste to useful energy
- Consultancy services for pharmaceutical, leather and energy-based industries,
- Battery solutions for stationary, E-mobility and grid applications and large scale process set up for energy storage development from materials to devices.
Establishing these verticals would help researchers at IBE™ to commercialize their ideas by translating them into products and thus generating revenue for the company and derive satisfaction by making their research visible in the form of successful products for the Indian Market.

Governments across the world are moving towards solar/wind energy potential, the number of planned renewable energy installations and mission-specific electric mobility, imposing clean society via bioremediation and energy generation from environmentally available wastes are impressive. These initiatives by government to empower the society to be sustainable require specialist products to be developed and manufactured indigenously. IBE™ plans to develop cost effective energy storage devices such as Lithium ion cells, Li-Air Battery, Li-Ion bipolar capattery, Monolithic protected Lithium anode cassette for all-solid State Li-rechargeable cells, Hydrogen exhaling Fuel Cells, aqueous metal ion batteries, value added products from plastic recycling and cathode material recovery from used Li-ion batteries by Microbial Electrochemical cells so on and so forth.
